On the overall performance…
“I thought in the first half we played some good attacking football and we played with some good invention. We stopped in the second half really and we didn't really go on as I thought we would go on. Overall I'm a little bit disappointed.”

On his side’s defending from crosses…
“It wasn't very good. The first goal we conceded from sloppy marking and the second goal came when we couldn't deal with a big loopy cross. They are young players and they need to realise that concentration is key to defending and when it comes to the sharp end around your box you need to be marking defensively. Tonight we didn't.”

On Mark Randall’s red card…

“I didn't really see it. I saw him come across and go for the ball. Maybe he went a little bit over the top after he got the ball but I was a little bit unsighted.

“Mark feels that he just went for the ball. He has hit the ball and then gone through the ball and hit the lad's leg. We'll have to have a look at it but it is just one of those unfortunate things. It’s unfortunate for Mark because we don't like to see anyone get sent off and also because of the little fracas here. They need to keep their discipline and that's the thing I'm a little bit disappointed with to be honest.”

On the character shown to equalise with 10 men…

“I thought they showed great character. We have got some good young players there and tonight shows how passionate they are and how much they want to win. That's all about being a top player.”

On the inclusions of Jack Wilshere and Eduardo…

“Jack needed a game after being involved with the first team. I think he has really found the game useful for him tonight. It was also good for Eduardo to get through 90 minutes unscathed and maybe could have nicked a goal at the end but his contribution is first class for us.

“Eduardo is disappointed we haven't won. He is a top pro and has been outstanding in the work that he has done. He is really disappointed that he didn't manage to score and win us the game."

On facing Spurs in their next encounter…
“At any level against Tottenham it will be a good hard-fought game and we're looking forward to it and hopefully we can get a victory.”
