on the performance…
I was pleased with the performance. I thought we started off really well - we passed the ball, got in on numerous occasions, went 2-0 up and then got a little bit sloppy towards the back end of the first half where we didn’t keep it simple and didn't keep passing and moving.

We gave the ball away near the halfway line and made the pitch big. They got in and then it became tight for a period. I thought in the second half we came out and we did well again. We created a number of chances and, apart from a couple of pieces of sloppiness, where we gave them a bit of hope, we generally controlled the game.

on whether his team should have won by more…
I think so, yes, because we had some real clear-cut chances. Martinez made a couple of really good saves in the game, so maybe they’ll argue differently. I think, overall, we probably did create a lot more chances than they did.

on taking seven points from three trips north…

We spoke about it beforehand. There are different reasons why you win football matches, and character is definitely one of them. That has to be there, along with the technical ability. I was pleased again. I thought Akpom was exceptional up front and I thought Hajrovic did really well at the back.

on Thomas Eisfeld…
He’s a very intelligent footballer and arguably plays better with better players because he is intelligent. He gets in good positions and, as you saw again tonight, he’s got excellent technique and can finish things off.

on facing West Ham on Friday…

It was probably our worst performance of the season when we played them. All the things we’ve just spoken about - the character and the ability to defend when you’ve got to defend and play good football, we didn’t show against West Ham. So it will be another good test for us to show where we are.
