On a comfortable win…
It looks an easy game in the end but for 15 minutes I think we looked a bit nervous. They had a right go but I thought we applied ourselves fantastically. We moved the ball [well], scored some great goals and their goalkeeper has made a hell of a lot of saves. I’m delighted with the performance.

On dominating the game for long periods…
I know we’re expected to but it can be a little bit difficult. I’ve been here when we’ve been beaten by Brentford in these Cup games, it’s not easy. The boys that played tonight were first class.

On whether he would like to play against Benik Afobe and Chuks Aneke
I don’t think so. If there are two better players in the country you’re going to have to go a hell of a long way to find them. I thought they were terrific tonight. With Benik coming back from Huddersfield [for one game before returning to his loan club] it might have been difficult to get going for this type of game but his attitude was absolutely spot-on.

On a good all-round display…
The biggest thing wasn’t the goals, it was the attitude of everybody involved. Because we’re expected to win this we have everything to lose. But the lads competed, moved the ball and more. They did everything that was asked of them.

On tougher tests ahead…
Let’s hope so because that’s why we’re in these competitions. We all want to be tested and if it’s a big club then even better. We want to try and replicate first-team games as well as we can. It would be nice to get a big club.

On what the players learn from playing in bigger games…
It’s getting closer to that first-team experience. The further you go in this competition the crowds get bigger and if we’re playing at Emirates we will get a big crowd there. We’re hoping to go an awfully long way.
