Arsenal's final pre-season friendly will come too soon for Cesc Fabregas and Robin van Persie, according to Arsène Wenger.

The Frenchman takes his team to Poland for a final workout on Saturday ahead of the Premier League opener at Liverpool on August 15.

It is the final opportunity for Arsenal's World Cup finalists to see some action before the serious stuff starts at Anfield. But although both Fabregas and Van Persie are due to return to training this week, they won't play in Warsaw.

What's more, Alex Song is unlikely to recover from injury in time to make his first pre-season appearance. But Denilson and Abou Diaby could play some part next weekend.

"Against Legia Warsaw you will see the players we saw [in the Emirates Cup]," Wenger told Arsenal TV Online.

"I believe Song will be short, you have a little chance to see Denilson and a very little chance to see Diaby. But Fabregas and Van Persie will not be ready."
