Jack Wilshere admitted he had to "pinch himself" to make sure his England debut was not a dream.
The 18-year-old became his country's tenth youngest international when he came off the bench during a friendly victory over Hungary at Wembley last month.
Wilshere's England bow came less than a year after his Premier League debut for Arsenal and it's an experience he'll never forget.
"It was brilliant," said Wilshere. "Sometimes I had to pinch myself, sitting in the dressing room next to Rooney and Gerrard and the others.
"I was just happy to get on and I think I did alright. I was ill the night before so I only played ten minutes but it was just nice to get on the pitch.
"It was a nice experience and hopefully I can get some more [caps for England], but at the moment I'm just trying to concentrate on breaking into the Arsenal first team."Copyright 2014 The Arsenal Football Club plc.
