Jack Wilshere believes Arsenal can get the right result at Chelsea on Sunday if they stay on the front foot.

Arsène Wenger's side won 5-3 in a dramatic match at Stamford Bridge last season and Wilshere says he and his team-mates will take heart from that result.

The England international goes into the London derby on the back of a matchwinning display in the FA Cup against Swansea City and he wants to see another positive performance from the Gunners.

"Chelsea is a big game," he said. "They had a tough game on Wednesday night as well so we have to recover and get up for Sunday.

"We won there last year so we know we can do it. We have to take our game to them. We have to play our football. We know they've got great players and individual players who can change the game, but I think we have as well, so we'll have to be confident going there.

"I think Chelsea don't like playing against us. We play football and they play football as well, so if we can take the game to them and get in behind them, with Theo's pace and Santi in the holes, we can do well.

"We know they're a great team. We just have to concentrate on ourselves and take the game to them."

A win would leave Arsenal five points adrift of Chelsea with a game in hand. Wilshere knows it's vital not to fall further behind in the race for Champions League places.

"I think every game's massive," he said. "We dropped points at the weekend and I think we were five undefeated so it was disappointing to go down to 10 men on Sunday [against Manchester City].

"It virtually made it impossible for us so we want to go again on Sunday. We're a bit behind in the table and we need points."
