Arsenal will not appeal Bacary Sagna’s red card against Manchester City on Wednesday night.

The full back clashed with Pablo Zabaleta in the last minute of the goalless draw at Emirates Stadium and both players were dismissed.

Arsène Wenger reviewed video evidence after the game and will not be taking the matter further.

“I have seen it again and there is no way we can appeal,” Wenger told TV Online on Thursday lunchtime.

“For me it is a red card and we have to accept it. Bacary lost his temper and had too strong a reaction. He acknowledges that he should have kept control. We will not appeal.”

Sagna will be suspended for the next three matches.
