Wenger on...on taking a point
"We dropped two points but we have to be realistic. Even in
super seasons, we made draws at Villa and you have to give them
credit. They are in a good period. They fought for every ball and
made it very difficult for us. We were sharp enough or technically
astute enough to get out of their pressure.""
Wenger on...on the performance
"Defensively we were sound and solid but
offensively we can be much better and it was a little bit of a
scrappy performance. There was a lot of fight and we had difficulty
getting the ball to be able to play united technically. We never
looked on the same wavelength going forward although we had a
couple of chances."
Wenger on...those chances that went begging
"Flamini had a good chance so did Toure at the
end but he was surprised and maybe a bit intimidated to be in front
of goal. He is not used to being in these situations. In the end he
hesitated and he did not take his chance."
Wenger on...Thierry Henry's performance
"He suffers a little bit physically because it
is his third game [in quick succession]. Going forwards we never
put any collective pressure on Villa and therefore it was more
difficult for the strikers."
Wenger on...missing Patrick Vieira
"Once you make a decision, you go forward. You
do not always look backwards. We feel it is too easy every time we
don't play well to say that if Patrick was there, we would play
better. That is not a good way to look at your performances. We
know with the team out here we can play better. That is more
important."
Wenger on...on climbing the table
"Our immediate aim is to chase the pack in front of us. In the
last three games we have taken seven points we have to consider
that. Being in the Champions League is an important position for
us. If it is fourth then it is fourth but it could be
higher."
