Arsène Wenger is surprised by recent speculation surrounding Bacary Sagna - because Arsenal have held "positive negotiations" with the France right back.
Newspaper reports have linked Sagna with a move away from Emirates Stadium but his manager was quick to play down those rumours at his pre-match press conference on Friday.
"I do not understand this speculation," said Wenger.
"He [Sagna] has one and a half years of his contract to go, and we are in negotiations with him to extend the contract, which are very positive.
"So I am quite amazed by these statements because it is the complete opposite of the feelings we have with the player, and with the negotiations we have had about his extension."
