On team spirit...
"I was worried a bit but the side is ready to fight until the last second. The defenders had a lot of work to do and they did it very well. Eventually Fabregas came through and the midfield is getting goals now. We won with style, against a good side and we defended very well. We created chances but even when things didn't go for us we kept going."

On scoring late goals...
""We won in the last seconds at Fulham, we scored a second goal at Prague in the dying moments, we missed a penalty and still won the game here. That is a recognition of what is going on in this team and how we are progressing. You get strength and confidence when you grow older. I am mentally stronger now than when I am 19 or 20. Time and experience give you confidence to do something with your talent. They make you realise that you are as good as any other player."

On the penalty save...
"The penalty flashed 1999 - Bergkamp versus Schmeichel - through my mind. I hoped history wouldn't repeat but it happened again. Let's hope we don't meet his grandson!"

On Manchester City ...
"I believe that we deserved to win the game but they are a good side. They had a period in the first part of the second half when they looked dangerous and they created chances. But after that we took over again. But maybe if they had scored at that moment, with them top of the league and full of confidence and talent, it would have been hard for us. City are a side that can stay up there, especially as they are still in the market for new players."

On Fabregas' contribution...
"I think Cesc will contribute more goals. Gerrard got 20 but I think Cesc will as well. But he contributes more with the assists as well which balances out the fact he doesn't score. But he did not actually have a chance today in the penalty area."

On new signings ...
"I am not in the market for any new players."

On new injuries...
"Sagna had a kick in the back, Senderos has an ankle injury. He did it in training on Friday and did not pass the fitness test. I think both will be okay for Tuesday."
