Wenger on...the defeat
"We lost a game we should not have lost. I feel our side
played with a team spirit showing some great quality, but the
overall thing is that we were punished for a lack of experience and
maturity. We did not take advantage of the chances we created and
we gave goals away for fun. That is why we were not
rewarded."
Wenger on...conceding the equaliser
"With a bit more experience we would not have
conceded the first goal and then maybe we would have won the game
if we had gone in at half time 1-0 up. There were plenty if chances
to win the game and there was plenty of quality in the side but the
overall balance of experience and youth was not right."
Wenger on...Chris Kirkland and West Brom
"Chris Kirkland had a great game because West
Brom were very, very subdued I feel. They didn't create a lot.
They did not even have the ambition to come out in the second half.
It was a bit like they were happy with 1-1. But we couldn't
take advantage of this and in every department we lacked a bit of
what makes the difference."
Wenger on...Chelsea's lead
"At the moment I don't look at the gap
- we have other worries. We have eight or nine players
out."
Wenger on...the latest injury news
"Sol Campbell will not be back. Thierry Henry
will not be back. Gilberto will be back I hope and Van Persie might
be available. Ljungberg will not be available. He has done his
hamstring and will be out for three weeks."
