Arsène Wenger is "deeply disappointed" that goal-line technology will not be used in football.

The Arsenal manager is a long-time advocate of using video replays to eliminate mistakes and FIFA has been under increasing pressure to act since Thierry Henry's handball 'assist' in the World Cup play-off between France and Ireland in November.

But the International Football Association Board ruled out the use of goal-line technology on Saturday, just hours before a legitimate Birmingham goal was disallowed at Portsmouth despite replays showing that Liam Ridgewell's header had crossed the line.

"I'm deeply disappointed with that [decision]," said Wenger. "I like goal-line technology for justice.

"We need to make sure nobody goes home and feels cheated by the wrong decision."
