Arsène Wenger insists his side must first ensure they qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League before they worry about winning their group.

Arsenal lie second in Group B as they head into the penultimate round of fixtures, with just two points separating the top three teams.

The Gunners face bottom club Montpellier at Emirates Stadium on Wednesday, and Wenger says they must pour all their energy into winning that match.

“We do it step by step. First of all we want to qualify, then try to top the group. Let’s just win the game,” he said.

“It is important on the back of the Tottenham game that we put in another good performance and show a resolute attitude. If we produce a quality performance then we will win the game.

“[Beating Tottenham] was an important win and it’s a good basis to build on and go to the next game with a stronger belief, even more united and more determined to play our game.”
