Arsène Wenger hopes that the international break will not upset his team’s momentum.
Sixteen of Arsenal’s first-team squad will be in action for their respective national sides this week and most of them face two internationals before returning to club duty.
Wenger’s squad has been resurgent in recent times, winning nine of their last 11 fixtures in all competitions to get their campaign back on track. And the Frenchman wants them to hit the ground running when they travel to Norwich on November 19.
“It [the international break] is certainly not a joy for me but hopefully it is not a pain because I hope the players will come back in good spirits,” said Wenger. “But it could be a pain if we lose some players through injury.
“I don't believe [it will upset our rhythm]. It's always a challenge to get the focus back quickly when players come from international games but let's hope we can sort that out.”Copyright 2015 The Arsenal Football Club plc.
