The fact that Arsenal play their title rivals at home in the second half of the season will give them an edge during the Premier League title run-in, according to Arsène Wenger.

The Gunners have already travelled to Stamford Bridge, Eastlands and Anfield this season and have come through a tough run of away games to sit just five points behind Chelsea.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men are due at Emirates Stadium on December 27, Manchester City visit on January 3 and Manchester United come to town on April 30 – a schedule that gives Wenger belief his side will have the upper hand as long as they keep pace with the league leaders until then.

“Our advantage is that we have played already at Chelsea, at Man City, at Liverpool and we will go to Manchester United [on December 13] in the first half [of the season],” said Wenger.

“For us it is very important to keep in touch with the top teams knowing we will play them all at home in the second part of the season, with the absolute need to beat them here.

“If we can keep in touch until the second part of the season we have a chance.”
