Wenger on...the performance
"I feel we made it difficult for ourselves because we missed
chances. We knew before the game it would be easier to win it in
the first 20 minutes but we lacked a little bit of concentration.
We did everything to put them in the right position, we gave them
two presents and we missed our chances. After that when you are 1-0
down we put them in a situation where they wanted to be, defending
with nine players and fighting for every ball. It was important for
us not to make a second mistake but we did and then it was very
difficult for us."
Wenger on...the Hleb penalty appeal
"I didn't think it was one but I
haven't seen the replay."
Wenger on...the team's confidence
"Confidence is high, we do not need to hide
behind that. I see no reason why we need to find more confidence,
the problem is we need to find more stability at the back. We were
exposed. We are a team who takes the game to opponents and as
Middlesbrough were happy to defend it becomes important not to make
mistakes at the back."
Wenger on...Sol Campbell's absence
"I don't feel the solution is with one player. When you
look at the results from last year you will see that no matter who
played everyone was involved in it. We are never a prisoner of
names. Sol was available today but he's not fit enough. He
was out for six months and have played two reserve games. Football
is patience and hard work, but he will come back."
