Wenger: 'We did it in a fantastic manner'

on finishing in fourth spot...
"I felt that Wigan gave us a hard time, but we had to deal with nerves as well. We went into the last week knowing that two away games, and one home game against Wigan, and less than nine points we have no chance. I feel that we did it in a fantastic manner because we scored 10 goals, and we had three cup games because all three teams gave us a very hard time. I'm very proud for my team because they did it in an exceptional way with a lot of character."

on the controversy surrounding Spurs ...
"What happened at Tottenham I don't know, and I feel sorry for that. I felt that it was not in our hands anymore, but they had to play Bolton and West Ham, I knew that they could drop points against both - and they could have dropped points against Bolton, frankly. Even if they had a draw today we still would have gone through - they needed to win today. Sport is like that sometimes, to lose it in the last game is difficult. "

on removing the pressure ahead of Paris...
"It takes a little bit of pressure off, yes, but I'm confident that this team has character and they will not be favourite on the 17th May, but I'm confident we'll try and bring the Cup back."

on the atmosphere in the ground...
"It affected a little bit the nerves, and I tried to convince the players to remain calm. I felt that when they came back to 2-2 we rushed a little bit our game and tried too much to do the final ball too quickly, or too individually. In the second half we did better with that."

on players leaving in the summer...
Frankly I don't know who will go and who will stay. But I want to keep personally everybody, because I feel that this team is growing particularly well. On the other hand I feel, for the history of the Club and for the history of this building here, to finish on a high I'm very proud of. We would all have felt guilty to walk out here on a low, after what has happened here for years."
