On whether it felt like a defeat...
"Yes."
On the quality of the performance...
"Even in the first half I don't see what
Tottenham created. We were dominating. We hit the post and scored a
regular goal. It was very frustrating to be 1-0 down at half time.
I could not see what Tottenham were creating apart from the goal
they scored from the corner. In the second we should have scored
five goals."
On conceding late...
"You can always concede a goal any time you
play. It is always frustrating when it is so close to the end. That
is a little bit of the story so far. We produce outstanding
football and create great chances but it you look at the amount of
big competitions we have lost in the last minute then of course it
is frustrating."
On looking at the positives...
"We should have had more goals but there is a
lot of positives. Firstly the spirit in the side after the week
that we have had. We came out in the second half showing
togetherness and a tremendous attitude and quality. But there are
some frustrating things like the fact we continue to get the
minimum from what we produce on the pitch. We only got one point
and it should be three. If it could be six then it should be
six."
On the will in the side...
"They are remarkable players with remarkable
spirit and quality. I'm sure that will come out next year in
the season. We will not change the team, it will remain what it is
at the moment and we get injured players back. We can add one
player maybe. We want to keep the core of the team and the spirit
of the team. The needed quality is there. Sometimes it is
intelligent not to try too much to improve. But you never refuse an
outstanding talent if you get one."
On signing players without David Dein being involved in
the process...
"We always did the job together. At the moment
I'm doing it alone. I always left the ugly part to David as
much as I could. It will be more difficult, of course, and more
time-consuming because he did a lot of work, especially
negotiation-wise."
On whether he owns shares in Arsenal...
"No but I regret it highly because if I had
bought some when I came I would be rich man now."
