Consistency is the key for Arsène Wenger in the Premier League now after dropping some “unbelievable” points earlier in the season.
Without playing at their best, Arsenal have cut the gap on the leaders from 10 points to just six since the New Year. However they are still down in fifth place and unfancied by many as true title challengers having slipped to early-season defeats against Fulham, Hull, Stoke, Aston Villa and Man City.
Wednesday’s trip to in-form Everton will be a real test of their new-found steel. Speaking before the weekend, Wenger suggested they may be able to haul themselves back into the race if they can maintain their recent run of six unbeaten games in the Premier League.
“If we are consistent we can come back,” said the manager. “We are six points from Man United, who have a game in hand.
“But if you look at the six points we dropped it is unbelievable how easy we dropped them. That is why it is important to be consistent now.”
