Arsène Wenger is confident that Arsenal can "climb two stairs" and reach the summit of the Premier League this season.

The Frenchman saw his team complete their pre-season schedule with a 6-5 win at Legia Warsaw on Saturday. The scoreline was rather baffling but it did complete an unbeaten summer record of five wins and a draw.

Wenger will be without a number of first-team stars this week as international friendlies briefly take centre stage but he will look to fine-tune his squad as much as possible ahead of Sunday's Premier League opener at Liverpool.

Arsenal's last title challenge fell away in the final weeks of last season but Wenger is convinced his team can go all the way this time around if they believe in themselves.

"I believe we have a good chance," he said.

"The most important thing is that we have that belief. We finished third last season, so we have two stairs to climb and I am confident that we can do it."
