Arsène Wenger says Arsenal are effectively playing ‘cup football’ until the end of the season.
After Manchester United’s defeat at Chelsea on Tuesday, Arsenal are very much hot on the heels of Sir Alex Ferguson’s side with a game in hand up their sleeve as they look to bridge a four-point gap to the Premier League leaders.
But, with any slip-up potentially proving costly, Wenger knows there is no margin for error.
“It will be only 'Cup' games for the rest of the season,” said the manager.
“It is like that now because every game you say 'that is the game you cannot afford to drop points in'.”
