Arsène Wenger will not rush to re-invest the money Arsenal bank from the sale of Emmanuel Adebayor.
The Togolese striker was finalising the formalities ahead of his move to Manchester City on Monday for an undisclosed – but suggested to be substantial – transfer fee.
Wenger can add that money to his kitty but the Frenchman will assess his internal resources before deciding on the need to find a replacement in the transfer market.
“I will be able to spend that money,” he said. “[I will do it] if we are able to find the right players and if we feel it is needed. We are not in a hurry right now.
“We have internal players lined up. Look at the offensive players that we have – Van Persie, Arshavin, Eduardo, Rosicky, Walcott, Bendtner.
“We just want to prepare [for] the season well now. We had 14 players missing for the Barnet game so we will see where we need an addition.
“We are not in a hurry but if we need to add something anywhere then we will.”
