Jack Wilshere may not be on Mario Balotelli's radar but Arsène Wenger insists he will be a "great" player.
The Manchester City striker pipped Wilshere to the prestigious Golden Boy award this week and, while collecting his prize, remarked that he had never heard of the Arsenal midfielder.
Wilshere can rest easy - he's 16 months younger than Balotelli but has played twice as much as him this season. And Wenger believes the 18-year-old has the world at his feet.
"I don’t know what he [Balotelli] said and it is difficult to comment on every comment," said Wenger. "I just feel Jack Wilshere will be a great player.
"At the moment he is just starting his career so you have to let him work, progress, improve and confirm all the potential I see in him.
"If he keeps the right attitude, that will come out."Copyright 2016 The Arsenal Football Club plc. Permission to use quotations from this article is granted subject to appropriate credit being given to www.arsenal.com as the source
