Arsène Wenger believes it is a greater achievement to win the Premier League than it is to lift the Champions League.

Arsenal continue to fight on both fronts and contest the first leg of their Champions League Quarter-Final against Barcelona on Wednesday night.

Ahead of that match the manager was asked if the Premier League is more difficult to win than the European competition, and Wenger thinks that’s a valid claim.

"You can argue for that yes," he said. "Why? Because recently all the English teams have always been in the final four [in the Champions League].

"To beat the English teams is maybe not as glamorous because you cannot parade on the roof of Europe.

"But if you consider only football it is certainly as difficult to win the Premier League. But if we win one of the two we will not cry."
