Arsène Wenger believes Sunday’s derby against Tottenham is an opportunity for his side to show the Premier League what they are made of.

The Gunners have clawed back some confidence with three straight victories in all competitions, most recently overcoming Olympiacos in the Champions League.

But, after a disappointing start to the season, Wenger says the clash against Harry Redknapp’s side can provide a huge boost for his side.

"It's not like any other game,” said Wenger. “It is for us an opportunity to continue our way back to a more ambitious position in the league.

“The fact that it is a derby makes it more difficult but it is more enjoyable.

“It is a very important game, you know the next game is always the most important in your life. We do not try to play down its importance at all, I just think it's the same home or away - if you play well you win.

"It is fantastic. Both sets of fans are up for it. We have done very well over the years but most important is to play football."
