Arsène Wenger says he is proud of the way French people reacted to their nation's controversial World Cup Play-Off win over Ireland.
Thierry Henry handled the ball before cutting back to William Gallas who headed home an extra-time winner to take France to next summer's World Cup.
In the aftermath of the game the country's media and influential Frenchmen were sympathetic towards Ireland, something which Wenger was happy to see.
"I'm quite proud by the way France reacted," he said.
"The whole population, journalists and football people all reacted in a very positive way."
