Arsène Wenger says that Wojciech Szczesny proved him wrong with his superb penalty save in Arsenal's 2-1 victory at Liverpool on Saturday.
The Frenchman gave his goalkeeper some playful stick in the lead-up to the game after the Pole failed to stop the previous three spot-kicks he had faced.
But Szczesny kept out Dirk Kuyt's penalty at Anfield, then reacted brilliantly to scramble across goal and palm away the striker's follow-up.
"Yes, I gave Szczesny a bit of stick and he proved me wrong!" Wenger told Arsenal Player. "He is a boy of exceptional talent and he gave an exceptional performance.
"I believe in him, that's why he plays. He is young, talented and gave a good performance. The target is to give another good performance on Tuesday [against Milan] because we need it again."
