Arsène Wenger is happy to forgive and forget Emmanuel Adebayor's goal celebration at Eastlands last September.
In his first game against Arsenal since moving that summer, the striker headed home 11 minutes from time then raced the length of the pitch to confront the visiting fans.
It drew a furious reaction from the travelling supporters and Adebayor was later punished for his actions. The Togolese international returns to Emirates Stadium this weekend and, at Friday's press conference, Wenger was asked if he could forgive Adebayor for his earlier misdemeanour.
"Of course," he replied. "I am stubborn but not stupid. Sometimes in the heat of the moment you can do things that are not right.
"I believe Arsenal has done extremely well for Adebayor so you don't expect that.
"But I take a distance from opinions by people who were not directly involved themselves in order to make an assessment."
