Eight games, 26 days, fourth place and then perhaps one Champions League Final - that is the way Arsenal's season adds up from now on.

Arsène Wenger has been operating with a stretched squad for much of this season. A couple more numbers tell the full story - he had as many as 10 players out during February and Mathieu Flamini is the eighth left back used this term.

At least Arsenal can welcome back experienced operators Ashley Cole and Sol Campbell now we are approaching the business end of the season but Wenger accepts he will have be prudent in his team selection. Rotation will be the key.

"I can't play them all and they know that as well," said the Frenchman. "You know when you go into the Semi-Finals of the Champions League and going for points in the Premiership there's only one thing that can get you through, that's the squad. More than ever in the next three-and-a-half weeks it will about the success of the squad."
