Arsène Wenger believes Philippe Senderos still has a “very good” future ahead of him despite his decision to send him out on loan to Milan
The Swiss international is expected to seal a temporary transfer to the San Siro in the next few days, subject to a medical. But that does not mean his five-year spell in North London should be seen as a failure.
“He was not disappointing,” said Wenger. “Don’t forget Senderos is 23 years-old - that is when other central defenders just start to play.
“He has played in a Champions League Final and has played over 100 games in the Premier League. [At Arsenal] he was in a position where we had many centre backs.
“For me, he will be a very good centre back.”
