The referees’ strike in Scotland does not have the backing of Arsène Wenger.
Fixtures north of the border are threatened with postponement after the country's category one referees voted to strike in response to increasing criticism over their performance and integrity.
Some officials have claimed that their personal safety is under threat but Wenger is against their strike action.
"It's a surprise to me that the referees decide to go on strike because we want our games to go on,” he said.
"I don't really like in a job where it is about passion, desire to give entertainment to people, that we start to strike.
"I think basically it is not a good idea."Copyright 2013 The Arsenal Football Club plc. Permission to use quotations from this article is granted subject to appropriate credit being given to www.arsenal.com as the source 25 Nov 2010
