The Scottish contingent at this season’s Emirates Cup will make it extra special, according to Arsène Wenger.
At the weekend, SPL champions Rangers join the Gunners, Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain for the now traditional two-day event at Emirates Stadium.
It is the first time a club from north of the border will take part in the tournament and Wenger thinks they will bring a “different” atmosphere to the English capital.
“We expect the Scots to come down,” the manager told Arsenal.com. “You know when they come to England they are always fired up.
“It could be a different style this year but it could be even more interesting.”
As a reminder, the two days of action are as follows:
Saturday 1st August 2009
Rangers v Paris Saint-Germain (2pm Kick-off)
Arsenal v Atletico Madrid (4.15pm Kick-off)
Sunday 2nd August 2009
Atletico Madrid v Paris Saint-Germain (2pm kick-off)
Arsenal v Rangers (4.15pm kick-off)
Emirates Cup 2009 tickets are still available. Day admission tickets, which give access to both matches in a day are available from £25 for adults and £15 for OAPs and under 16s.
