Tomas Rosicky has suffered an injury setback but, according to Arsène Wenger, it is “not a major problem”.
This morning’s media suggested the Czech midfielder had hurt his hamstring and would be out for six weeks.
That will be deeply disappointing news for every Arsenal fan given Rosicky has played in three pre-season friendlies this term. His first games since damaging his hamstring tendon in January 2008.
At his press conference at Great Ormond Street Hospital on Thursday afternoon, Wenger admitted: “It is worrying.
“He was so sharp that it is difficult to accept that he has had a muscle injury.
“But it is not a major problem. You get that type of injury after you have been out for 18 months.”
