Aaron Ramsey can emulate the likes of Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard to become the Premier League’s next goalscoring midfielder.

That is the view of Arsène Wenger, who looked on as the Welshman fired his side to the top of Champions League Group F with a late winner against Marseille on Wednesday night.

Ramsey now has two goals for the season after scoring in the North London derby at the beginning of the month and Wenger believes he can push on to reach double figures before the season’s end.

“Yes I think he can,” the manager told Arsenal Player. “He has scored against Tottenham against Marseille.

"He has that ability to get into the box and when he has a chance he finishes it. He has always had that since he started.

“There is much more to come from Aaron Ramsey and I believe he can reach double figures.”
