Arsène Wenger will make a late decision on the centre-back pairing that faces Everton with William Gallas now fully fit after his hamstring injury.
Gallas was an unused substitute against Cardiff City on Sunday but at Tuesday’s pre-match press conference the manager said that the ex-Chelsea defender is ‘likely to be involved’ at Goodison Park.
That makes a three-into-two situation at the centre of defence, after Johan Djourou and Kolo Toure helped Arsenal to a clean sheet at Ninian Park.
Elsewhere in defence, Gael Clichy is expected to return to the side after missing Sunday’s game through suspension. Young midfielder Jack Wilshere could also be omitted from Wednesday’s squad.
“Gallas is likely to be involved tomorrow,” said Wenger. “I have not picked the team yet but he will be with us of course.
“It will be at the expense of who it will be. That depends on the games and what kind of opposition we have.”
