Arsène Wenger says Robert Pires still has something to offer a Premier League club.

The 36-year-old, who scored 84 goals in his six years at Arsenal, has been training with the Club as he seeks fitness while contemplating the next chapter of his illustrious career.

Wenger believes any manager looking for a creative force should jump at the chance to sign the former Gunner, though the current talent he has at his disposal means Pires’ future lies away from north London.

"Believe me, he can play in the Premier League,” said the Frenchman.

“If I was a Premier League manager looking for a creative player I would take Pires tomorrow.

“I will help him to get fit but I have Rosicky, Nasri, Fabregas, Wilshere and Arshavin who all play in the same kind of manner, so if I sign Pires he will not play and it just adds to the wage bill.

"I like Pires and we are proud that every player who plays for us likes to come back because it was a special experience in their lives.”
