Arsène Wenger says Ju Young Park will quickly demonstrate the talents that persuaded him to sign the striker in the summer.

The South Korean was handed his Champions League debut for Arsenal in the goalless draw with Marseille on Tuesday after impressing – and scoring - against Bolton in the Carling Cup.

Park was not quite as prominent against the French outfit but Wenger says the 26-year-old will soon show his true colours - especially when the African Cup of Nations begins in Jauary.

“I think he played a little bit inhibited [on Tuesday],” Wenger said. “His real game was against Bolton and on the night against Marseille I think he was a bit fazed by the pressure.

“You will see the real Park very quickly. We are [relying on him in January] but I have plenty of confidence in him. He will show how good a player he is.

“He is quick, intelligent, mobile, a good finisher and many of these aspects didn't come out on the night. He will be a good player for Arsenal.”
