Arsène Wenger says now is the time for his side to prove they have come of age but knows Chelsea will provide one of their biggest tests yet.
The Frenchman believes that his team is no longer considered to be young and has the quality to prove their worth at Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
"I think there is a period for any team to come out and show its strengths," he said.
"I think for our team this moment has come. We are not any more a team that has to be considered to be young.
"We have the strengths and we want to show on Sunday that we want to beat them."
The Arsenal manager admits that the game against Chelsea will be one of the biggest tests yet for his side but says he is relishing the fixture.
"It is one of the biggest tests, yes. But that is what you want; you want to play the big game games.
"Everyone will look at the game to rate our potential, and I have no worries about that.
"We are ready for the game, are well focused, prepared and the confidence is good. We just want to focus on the game like we want to play it."
Wenger also refutes the suggestion that this could be a bad time to play the Stamford Bridge side.
"No, I do not believe it is a bad time [to play Chelsea]," said Wenger. You know that during the season you will at some period have some injuries.
"Chelsea might have some at a different period. It does not matter.
"I still believe we are strong enough to beat them."
