Arsène Wenger has urged Arsenal's fans to leave Ashley Cole alone when they visit Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
The England left-back received a hot reception from the away section at last season's corresponding fixture following Cole's acrimonious departure from Emirates Stadium in the summer of 2007.
Cole is expected to line up against his former club this weekend and Wenger hopes the travelling fans will focus their attention on the current Arsenal side.
"I do not want anybody to be targetted in the other team," said Wenger at his pre-match press conference. "You want your fans to support your team in a fair way, but a very passionate way and I am sure that will happen on Sunday.
"At the moment I do not speak to him [Cole] or see him, but I respect what he has done for the Club here, and since [he left] he is continuing to play well."
