Arsène Wenger believes Norwich are a perfect example of how the right formula can bring success in the Premier League.

The Canaries have enjoyed a productive season under Paul Lambert since their return to the Premier League and secured their safety with weeks to spare.

Wenger admits Saturday’s opponents were an unknown quantity but have showed just what is capable with the right approach.

“When you look at Norwich, the squad is not as small as people think it is,” said the Frenchman.

“I agree that they did come into this league with relatively unknown players but what is fantastic in this job is that it is not about names, it is about performances. They have done remarkably well.”

Grant Holt has enjoyed a fruitful campaign of his own with 15 goals in all competitions and Wenger had praise for the striker at his pre-match press conference.

“He has been great,” he said. “Norwich is a team that crosses a lot - they have the second highest number of crosses in the league and Grant Holt got on the end of many of them. So he has been a revelation in this league.”
