Arsène Wenger admits that Cesc Fabregas' injury is just 'one of those things'.
The Spanish midfielder will be sidelined for up to four months after suffering medial knee ligament damage during Sunday's 1-1 draw with Liverpool at Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal's captain sustained his injury in a 50:50 challenge with Xabi Alonso on the stroke of half-time. However, Wenger refused to apportion blame to the Liverpool midfielder, accepting that Fabregas' misfortune is all part of football.
"The challenge [by Alonso] was fair and honest, I have no problem with it," said Wenger at his pre-match press conference.
"I don't feel there was any intention to hurt, it was purely accidental.
"It is exactly what I have said many times, it is the kind of thing you accept in the game that can happen."
