Arsène Wenger hailed his squad and its younger members for their resilience and patience during Tuesday night's victory over Shrewsbury.
The Gunners were dealt a first-half scare when James Collins headed the visitors in front but rallied in the second period to secure their passage through to the Fourth Round.
Wenger handed full debuts to several members of his squad and was ultimately pleased with their efforts against the League Two outfit.
"The players took responsibility and grew into the game, especially the younger ones," the manager told Arsenal Player.
"We will try to go for it [in this competition] and adjust the team to the difficulty we face in every game."
The full interview with the boss is now available on Arsenal Player. He discusses a stern Shrewsbury test, encouraging signs from his younger players and how the Gunners intend to treat the Carling Cup.
