Arsène Wenger met Stan Kroenke on Thursday and stressed his focus remains on maintaining his team’s challenge for the title.

Wenger was called by Kroenke earlier in the week to discuss his offer for the Club and the run-in to the end of the season.

The two men were at Emirates Stadium on Thursday to see Ken Friar and the late Danny Fiszman honoured and the Arsenal manager has no concerns about the American's intentions.

Wenger repeated his support for Kroenke but made it clear his top priority is the key game against Liverpool on Sunday.

He said: “I am aware of the offer but you will appreciate that the Takeover is subject to various rules and as such I can’t comment further.

"I think I have a responsibility to bring success to the team, to be consistent at the top and to manage the club well. For me it is important as well that everybody inside the Club does what they are responsible for.

"My focus will be on ensuring the team has a successful run in to the end to the season. We have a lot to play for.”
