Eduardo... in action for the Reserves at Stoke
Wenger maps Eduardo's first-team return
By Chris Harris
Eduardo is close to a first-team return, according to Arsène Wenger.
The Croatian striker suffered a broken leg and a dislocated ankle at Birmingham last February but is now back in action, making his comeback for the Reserves last month and completing 90 minutes for the second string at Stoke last Wednesday.
Eduardo looked sharp in both matches and told Arsenal.com last week that he was "ready" to step up to the senior squad. His manager has so far resisted the temptation to recall Eduardo but expects to select him soon.
"He needs one or two more games," explained the Frenchman.
"We will maybe organise a game behind closed doors next week and he should also play for Croatia in an international friendly. After that, he should be ready."
