Injuries are the key to Freddie Ljungberg reproducing his top form at Arsenal according to Arsène Wenger.

Unfortunately the Swedish midfielder has been a regular on the treatment table this season and limped off after 40 minutes of the North London derby on Saturday. Wenger himself takes the blame for that and he argues that Ljungberg can recapture his best if he stays fit.

"He can be the player he was if he is injury-free," said the manager. "I felt a bit guilty on Saturday because he just had one day training and I pushed him in. I feel I made a mistake."

Around the turn of the year, there was speculation over Ljungberg's future at Arsenal. On Saturday, Wenger was asked whether the 30-year-old would remain with the Club next season.

"He has a contract of two years and so normally he would be here," replied the Frenchman.
