Arsène Wenger believes Liverpool are too good to get relegated from the Premier League.

Since Pepe Reina’s own goal gave Arsenal a point at Anfield on the opening day of the season, Roy Hodgson and his Liverpool side have had very little to cheer about. Off the pitch the club’s future has been settled in the High Court and on the pitch only goal difference keeps them off the foot of the table.

Although the Arsenal manager feels Liverpool have the quality to get out of their predicament he feels it could be a long and slow process.

“I don’t think they will go down because they are too good a team,” said Wenger.

“We are in a sport where you go quickly down and slowly up. We are in a human sport and that makes it very fragile.

“Confidence is very important at our level and it goes very quickly.”
