Arsène Wenger has paid yet another tribute to Jens Lehmann ahead of tonight’s pre-season friendly in Stuttgart.

The German keeper was given a rousing send-off at the final home game of last season before leaving Emirates Stadium on a free transfer.

He ended up back in the Budesliga and his former manager is delighted at the rapid re-acquaintance for a match that celebrates the new name of Stuttgart’s stadium - the Mercedez-Benz Arena.

“It will be very good to see him,” said Wenger. “He will always be remembered as great goalkeeper, a good influence and a super professional.

“We had our differences but always with respect. As long as a guy comes in in the morning and gives 100 per cent to do well then you respect him.”
