Arsène Wenger believes the month of January will be “key” to Arsenal’s season.
Wednesday’s trip to Ipswich is the first of four games in ten days with an FA Cup Third-Round replay at Leeds sandwiched between Premier League fixtures against West Ham and Wigan.
That is followed by the return leg of the Carling Cup Semi-Final and then a possible FA Cup tie against Huddersfield.
While accepting the busy schedule is part and parcel of competing for trophies, Wenger feels this hectic period will go a long way in determining the success of his side’s campaign.
“It’s a key month,” said the manager. “But you want games, we are competitive players and a competitive club so you cannot complain when you have competition.
“We relish competition. It’s a good opportunity for everybody at the Club to contribute to the success.
“That’s why I believe January is a very congested month but as well a great opportunity for everybody to show how much we want success.”Copyright 2013 The Arsenal Football Club plc.
