on Arsenal's missed chances...
"We didn't take the chances we created in
the second half. At 2-0 it looked like it could be three or four up
but we were caught again when it was 2-1, and it could have been
2-2. The story of the game is that when it should have been four or
five it suddenly became 2-1, and at 2-1 it became a bit shaky.
Reading gave everything and on the counter attacks we missed
something in our final balls every time. Overall, after the week
we've had, it was very important to get three points today. I
feel we managed that with a good performance and the only regret I
have is that we didn't finish them off."
on Reading's performance...
"For me they are one of the few sides that has
come here to the Emirates and tried to play. They came out every
time they had the ball. We have not seen that many times this year
so we are pleased to see that. Their passing is good, they are very
dangerous on set pieces, very good on counter-attacks and
physically they are certainly one of the two or three strongest
teams in the league."
on Theo Walcott's performance...
"I feel he gave us something that was important
in the game. He is always ready to go in behind and plays on the
last man. With his pace he made them drop a little and give us
space. He made good runs but you see that he is still young in some
of his controls. There is plenty of interesting things in there but
with a lack of maturity a little bit. That is normal - he is
17-years-old."
on a potential danger the game highlighted...
"At 2-1 I thought about Wednesday's visit
of PSV Eindhoven. At 2-1 in that game we're out of the
Champions League, so it's very important we take our chances. I
feel in those games you have little bit of extra special
concentration and focus that makes you a little more efficient in
the final third. I'm confident we'll have that. I think we
have to be relaxed as possible, believe in what we do, continue to
play the football we can play and that will be enough."
on which players could return for the visit of PSV...
"We will have the suspended players. That means
Emmanuel Adebayor and Kolo Toure. On Emmanuel Eboue there's a
big , big question mark because of his ankle and Thierry Henry is a
big, big question mark as well. Nobody else can come
back."
on how the victory will boost confidence...
"PSV will be cautious, wait for us in their
half and try to make us impatient. We have to be dynamic and
patient together and that will not be very easy. But I believe we
can do it. The most important thing is that a bad result today
would have pushed us a little bit in a crisis confidence-wise, but
these three points get us in a good position in the league to
qualify for the Champions League, and that will help us play under
a little less pressure on Wednesday."
on Manchester United's title aspirations...
"You never know. But of course in the last two
games they have taken six points. I think even they would not
have dreamed with 10 minutes to go [when drawing in both
games] they would take six points. But that's football. It
looks to be their year and what is very good for them is that what
has happened in the last two games will strengthen their
belief."
