Every cloud has a silver lining, as the old saying goes.

Eduardo's broken leg was the darkest of clouds but, a little over an hour after that incident, Theo Walcott splashed colour across the gloom which had enveloped St Andrews.

The youngster's quick-fire brace against Birmingham, his first Premier League goals, were expert in both their timing and their execution. Now Arsène Wenger believes that the former Southampton man's confidence and subsequent performances could be a big help in the Gunners' title charge.

"Of course he has done well and shown that he has got his first goals," said the Frenchman.

"That is important you know to get off the mark and I believe that you will see him get many more."
